79AD. Wasn’t A Good Year For Pompeii !

There you are going about your business, when Mount Vesuvius erupts, covering the city and surrounds with Ash and lava.

The ash preserved the city in a six metre thick airtight seal for about 1500 years.

These people in the photo below, could have been dressed in Togas and you would have seen the same thing in 78AD!

It was a modern city, and the Pompeii inhabitants would have fitted right in with today’s cosmopolitan set.

The road system was made in two size widths for Chariots. The one below was a two way street, that enabled the chariots wheels to pass each other between the pedestrian stones.One way streets only had two pedestrian Pavers.
