My wife leaves early for work, so it’s just me and the Lorikeet sharing breakfast. The Bird is particularly fond of Crumpet and honey.
On the Breakfast table was a tall, glass vase with lilies. The sun shining through the window highlighted the air bubbles trapped in the stem hairs.
Dropping the afore mentioned crumpet, I grabbed the camera with an extension tube and took some shots. The curvature of the vase and the water provided the perfect background distortion.
Moving up the vase, I saw the flowers were only just opening and got this gem as well.
I have a battery grip on the Canon, which provides a steady hand hold, coupled with the Image Stabilising lens. This set up using the smallest extension tube, doesn’t require a tripod.
Feeling very proud of the fact that I achieved so much – so early in the day, I put the kettle on for another cup of tea.
