Just A Little Bit Further

It seems the old saying “The Grass is always greener” holds true for native birds as well.

This pair of Silvereyes were feeding on these palm seeds,when one of them spotted this outlying tendril, with one seed left on it.

It wasn’t ripe, he had one taste of it and dropped it.While his mate feasted on the mass directly below him.

The birds gorge themselves on the seeds,swallowing them whole,the red pigment in the seed is that strong, the grey membrane around the eye,which gives them their name goes a pinky red colour
